4 ways to save on your wedding flower budget
July 20, 2023
We all know weddings can add up really fast! Lets discuss some ways that your wedding florist can help to keep your wedding beautiful but save your some money.
- The first idea to save money on your wedding flowers is to be careful with the flowers you choose. Yes different flowers cost different prices and that will reflect in your wedding flower budget. some cost effective blooms are going to be carnations, alstroemeria, button poms and even some greenery like leather or Salal. I’m not saying these are the best flowers to use but they are more cost effective blooms, so maybe request them as filler flowers in your arrangements to help lower the cost.
- Repurposing arrangements from your ceremony to reception is another excellent way to save money on your wedding flower budget. The ceremony is typically where the largest portion of the budget is spent…. but its only about 30 mins of the whole event. So to make those flowers really sign, repurpose them in the reception also. Say you have a large arch with flowers that is on a stand…. maybe have the stand brought into the reception area and use it behind the sweetheart table also. Or ask your florist to design your arch flowers so they can be placed on the sweetheart table also. another option would be to reuse your bridesmaid bouquets as centerpieces.
- Renting items to save in the overall cost of the wedding flowers is a great idea. Purchasing items your will only use once when items can be rented isn’t the best option always. So make sure to check with your venue, coordinator and florist to see what items they have available to rent. A. Rose Bouquet has arches, vases, candles and flower stands that are available for renting.
- making arrangements smaller or simpler can save on the wedding flower cost. If you still aren’t able to get to the ideal budget for your wedding flowers ask your florist about simplifying the arrangements. this means to have less variations in the arrangements, maybe 1 or 2 flowers types only. not as eye catching but a good last resort if needed. Also the arrangements can be made smaller. Say you love the look of a full arch with greenery and flowers covering the whole piece. Yes, that is beautiful but it can be really pricey. The arrangement can be adjusted to be smaller, maybe a larger corner of flowers to have half the cost.
All of these ideas are ways that you can save money on your wedding flower budget. Make sure to let your florist know the ideal budget you have and see if there are any tricks they have to get you closer to your wedding flower budget goals. Ultimately we want you to love your wedding flowers!
